Be it a main meal or just a snack, the restaurant is open and ready to serve you for 15 hours of every day. Open to hotel guests and to visitors who are not staying with us. Besides the food, you are likely to experience interesting people and conversations.
Two levels, and the upper deck has the edge.
The restaurant has two levels. The upper deck has a slight edge when it comes to panoramic views over the Valley. The views are always changing and interesting; but sunrise breakfasts can be very special indeed - sometimes stunning.
Where possible, meals should be ordered well in advance. KV is definitely not a "fast-food joint" - the food menus are too extensive for that to be the case. Visitors are encouraged to relax and order drinks while waiting for their meals to be served.
Our guests can let us know in advance the seating arrangement they prefer. We are very flexible in order to enhance the social experience.
You do not have to be staying with us to eat here. The restaurant and bar are open to visitors as well as to hotel guests, every day of the week. For a large group, please call ahead so the kitchen can be ready for you.

A drink for every occasion.
The unique bar is the focal point for drink services. You may chose to sit at the bar itself or enjoy waiter services at numerous relaxation places.
This has to be one of the most unique bars in Kenya. It is constructed from timber and natural stones, as is much of the main building of Kerio View. The bar is not large but offers a good selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, including a broad spectrum of wines and whiskeys and a range of cocktails.
Sitting at the bar is often the time one becomes aware of the ensemble of different languages typical of an evening in KV. You never know who you might meet at the KV counter.
When the kitchen serves.
07:00 - 10:30
Full English or continental, fruit, eggs however you want them, chapati, and coffee strong enough for an altitude session.
10:30 - 21:30
A la carte from the menus below. When large groups of guests are present it is likely there will be a buffet-style dinner available, which can often be a faster option than the a la carte order.
11:00 - late
After a tiring day of hiking, biking, paragliding or just touring, there will be a drink to suit your mood as you recall and recount the day's events.
The highland chill of evening would persuade guests not to linger over their dinner, and lessen their enjoyment of the food, were it not for the log fire in the large fireplace. The fire is lit every night.
Nyama choma.
A barbecue of mixed meats is a popular get-together option for small groups. The usual venue is one of KV's outdoor bandas, particularly the one with its own fireplace, called "Bankers".
A cook and service staff are assigned to the group for the duration of their party, and will prepare and serve to your requirements. A chosen selection of drinks will be close at hand in the banda, and special drinks are brought on order from the main bar by your waiter.
Beef, lamb and chicken are usually served; pork only on specific request. But we especially recommend the meat of the goats from the Kerio Valley. Unless you are a true carnivore, we suggest you also enjoy the chapattis, potatoes and vegetables that are served alongside.
As the sun sets and the view of the Valley dims, the mouth-watering aroma of roasting meat will begin to pervade the evening air. This is the time, before the meal, to enjoy your special "Sundowner" drink. And after a good meal with friends, what comes more naturally than to take to the dance floor - remember to bring your music on a CD or flash disk.
